Getting Started with GamesGrid Poker

What do I need in order to start playing poker?
GamesGrid is implemented through a software program that you download to your computer. You need to be able to download and install the GamesGrid client software. The client software enables you to connect to the GamesGrid server. If you do not have administrator permissions on your computer, please ensure that the Windows user profile you are using has permission to download and install software. You will also need a GamesGrid nickname and password to log in. See Creating a Nickname if you do not already have a GamesGrid nickname and password.

When downloading should I run from its current location or save? If I have to save, where do I save it?
Choose Open (or Run), to begin the download/installation. When the installation is complete, close the dialog box, and then locate the new file on your Desktop and double click it to play. If you choose to Save the file instead, we recommend saving it to a location where you can find it easily, such as the desktop. Once the download is complete, locate the file and double click it to begin installation.

What is the difference between playing from my Web browser and through the downloaded application?
You can play GamesGrid poker only through the downloaded application (the client software).

Do I need to be connected to the Internet to play?
You must be connected to the Internet to log in and play.

I downloaded the software but now I cannot find it, what should I do?
Click Start, then Backgammon. Backgammon Files or Folders for GamesGrid Poker. When it is found, double click the file's icon to begin the installation. If you cannot find the downloaded file, just download again and save to your Desktop so you can find it easily.

I downloaded the software. How do I find the games and start playing?
Double click the GamesGrid Poker shortcut on your Desktop (or click Start, then Programs, then GamesGrid). Enter your Nickname and password in the login dialog box and click the Login button. If you don't yet have a Nickname, click the Create new account button instead.

The auto-upgrade is not working. What should I do?
You can download the latest software from our Download Center.

Why can't I find the GamesGrid poker shortcut on my desktop?
You may not have installed the GamesGrid software yet. Find the downloaded file GGPoker.exe, and double click it to begin the installation. When the installation is complete, you should have a GamesGrid Poker shortcut on your Desktop. Note: GamesGrid is not installed in the Start/Programs list on Windows NT. You will have to create the desktop icon (or insert GamesGrid into the Start/Programs menu.)

How can I uninstall GamesGrid Poker?
In Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs, highlight GamesGrid Poker and click the Remove button.
