System Requirements
GamesGrid Gin Rummy works on Windows computers running Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.
We recommend that you set the color depth in Display Preferences to at least 24-bit True Color. These settings will show the lobby icons and other components of the software to best advantage.
GamesGrid Gin Rummy is supported only for Windows (but try backgammon!).
A large number of AOL users play on GamesGrid. If you are having connection difficulties, please contact AOL and ask them for assistance. They will need the following information: The internet address you want to reach is gin.gamesgrid.com (the GamesGrid gin rummy connection service).
You can play on GamesGrid if your firewall filters only incoming traffic. You cannot play if your firewall filters outgoing traffic. Ask your system administrator for this information.
It is possible to connect through a proxy server. A Windows application that allows you to do this is SocksCap. It may be downloaded from Permeo; use SocksCap32. To use this method, the GamesGrid software must be launched through SocksCap. The SocksCap application runs in the background.
SocksCap intercepts the networking calls from WinSock applications, such as the GamesGrid software, and redirects them through the SOCKS server, without any modification to the original applications or to the operating system software or drivers. More information is available from the Socks Reference and the Socks FAQ.
