No one likes unfinished matches, but sometimes games get interrupted and cannot be finished in a timely manner. Especially in money games, no one wants their reserves tied up waiting for an opponent to reappear. At the same time, everyone wants to ensure that they get full equity, reflecting the current score and position in each game.

 E-Jackpots matches and money sessions
In order to free reserves and complete money matches on a timely basis, E-Jackpots matches and money sessions are evaluated and resolved by a world-class robot evaluator, after 10 minutes of inactivity. Money distributions are made proportionally based on match winning chances (MWC). This means that each player gets full equity out of each position: the same amount they would get if the position were played out thousands of times and the average result calculated.

 Rated non-money matches
Unfinished rated matches are automatically resolved by a robot evaluator, after three (3) days of inactivity. Rating changes for both players are proportionally assigned based upon their ratings-adjusted chances of winning the match. This action is intended to encourage players to finish matches themselves, while preventing unfinished matches from taking space in the databases.

Note that in order to prevent certains types of rating manipulation, rated matches are resolved by AMR even if one of the players becomes a guest before resolution takes place.

 Unrated non-money matches
Unfinished unrated matches are automatically resolved by a robot evaluator, after ten (10) days of inactivity. This action is intended to encourage players to finish matches themselves, while preventing unfinished matches from taking space in the databases.

 Non-money match resolution process
Involved players are notified via GamesGrid Message of the scheduled resolution action and timetable as the deadlines approach. The message includes the address of this page for reference.

Players are encouraged to complete the matches themselves during the period between initial notification and automated resolution. Matches unfinished after the required waiting periods resolved by a robot evaluator, and ratings points assigned based on match winning chances (MWC). After resolution, results are posted to the match database. Involved players are notified via GamesGrid Message of the action taken.

 How It Works An example
Ratings changes are determined by three factors:
  1. the number of points in the match
  2. the ratings difference between the players
  3. the match winning chances for each player
The number of points in the match was agreed as part of the invitation.

The ratings difference between the players is used to calculate the ratings changes that would apply if the match were played to conclusion. If both players have more than 500 points experience, then the calculated ratings changes will be symmetric; i.e., player A will win as many points as player B loses, and vice versa. Players with less than 500 points experience win or lose ratings points at a faster rate. (The rate of change decreases to the standard rate of change as a player's experience approaches 500 points).

For example, if player A is rated 100 points higher than player B, the win/lose figures for a 7 point match are

winA = +4.4       loseA = -6.1
winB = +6.1       loseB = -4.4

Match winning chances for each player (MWCp) are estimated by the robot's 2-ply-lookahead evaluation (the highest evaluation level) of the current match score and position, adjusted for the ratings difference between the players. The sum of the MWCp for all players is 1.00 (100%).

To continue the example, if player A is estimated to have 75% match winning chances, then

MWCA = 0.75
MWCB = 0.25

Since the match was not played to conclusion, the ratings change for each player (DRp) is

DRp = MWCp*winp - (1-MWCp)*losep

To continue the example, The ratings changes would be

DRA = 0.75*4.4 - 0.25*6.1 = +1.775
DRB = 0.25*6.1 - 0.75*4.4 = -1.775
