The original GamesGrid came with a Windows installer. The new GamesGrid does not.
There is no separate game client to download, install or keep updated. When GamesGrid opens, simply visit the website, sign in and take your seat.
The board, your matches, your opponents and your match analysis are all part of GamesGrid itself.
Nothing stands between you and the board except opening your browser.

GamesGrid runs directly in your browser. There is no Windows version to find, no separate mobile client to download and no installer to run before your first match.
As GamesGrid develops, new features and improvements become part of the platform itself. Open the website and you are using the current version.
No searching for updates. No replacing an old client.
Play on your computer, tablet or phone
The original GamesGrid belonged to the computer you installed it on. The new GamesGrid goes with you.
Open it on a desktop, tablet or phone using the same account.
And we have not simply taken one desktop interface and made it smaller. GamesGrid has dedicated layouts for different screen sizes, designed to give the backgammon board as much space as possible while keeping the controls and information around it easy to use.
A desktop gives you the complete GamesGrid experience. A tablet gives the board plenty of room. On a phone, the interface is reorganised specifically for the smaller screen.

Your match analysis is already included
You do not need to download separate analysis software just to understand what happened in your match.
After every game or match, GamesGrid can take you directly into the review. Revisit your checker plays, cube decisions and mistakes, examine your Performance Rating and see how luck affected the result.
The analysis is part of GamesGrid, and it is available from the same account you used to play the match.

The download you may actually want: your match
GamesGrid itself does not need to be downloaded, but your matches can be.
Export a match in the standard .mat format and keep your own copy of every roll and move.
Save a memorable win. Keep an important tournament match. Build your own archive. Or take a position away for further study.
Exporting is entirely optional. Your GamesGrid analysis remains available without downloading anything.
Looking for the original GamesGrid download?
From 1996, the original GamesGrid Backgammon was played through a downloadable Windows client.
That software belongs to the old GamesGrid. The new GamesGrid is a new browser-based platform and does not use the original client.
If you still have an old GamesGrid installer, it will not connect you to the new club. Returning players and new players alike will enter through the website.
