A world of rivals. A career of your own

Discover GamesGrid’s Career Mode

Enter a living world of backgammon

GamesGrid will be home to the first-ever single-player career mode built for backgammon. In this simulated world, you compete with over 500 virtual club members from 120 countries. Play in tournaments, climb through the leagues, earn sponsors, build a trophy cabinet and become a legend.

Every member follows the same calendar and the same rules as you. They have their own careers to build, titles to defend and rivals to beat. You are not the only player with ambitions.

Rivals with careers of their own

The members are characters, not difficulty settings. Each has a name, a face, a country, a voice, a personality and a measured playing strength.

Their results come from matches played out by the game engine. They enter events, compete through the season and build records you can follow. Notice who keeps reaching the finals. Discover who you enjoy facing—and who you still need to beat.

The whole club moves forward with you

A career year is your calendar: enter a tournament, play a league block, spend an evening at the clubhouse, visit the casino or take a week off. Whatever you choose, the other members advance through their careers too. Skip a week and those events still happen. The trophy you did not compete for goes into somebody else's cabinet.

None of this runs on a real-world clock. Close the game and the calendar pauses. No energy bar, no daily streak, no loot boxes. Your career moves at your pace.

From club nights to world titles

The circuit takes you from weekly evenings at the clubhouse to festivals, majors and the biggest events of the year, in beautiful venues in cities around the world—each with its own setting, atmosphere and mix of club members.

Alongside the main tournaments, every stop offers side events: double-match-point brackets, speed and superspeed events, small-field super jackpots and 2 vs 2 doubles with your club partner.

A career for every level

Career Mode is open to players of every level. The world is built so that tournaments are limited by level: you compete against opponents of your own strength, and step up as your Career Rating grows.

The leagues return

Four league competitions at different match lengths, each with its own rewards. Face the same opponents round after round, fight for promotion, avoid relegation—and your opponents are ready when you are.

What you are playing for

Titles, trophies and simulated prize money. Career Points for a season leaderboard. A Career Rating that places you on the same ladder as every other member, from beginners to the strongest players in the club.

Your career runs on a simulated bankroll: prize money, league results and sponsorship contracts bring funds in; event entries and a night at the casino take them out. Nothing is bought, nothing is cashed out. You build your career by playing—not by paying.

Play doubles too

One club member becomes your doubles partner. Enter 2 vs 2 events together, year after year, and build a record as a pair.

A history that stays

Trophies remain in your cabinet. Titles stay on your record. The Hall of Fame remembers who won what, long after the final match. Each season adds another chapter.

Questions about Career Mode

Can I play at my own level?

Yes. Every event has tournaments limited by level, and your Career Rating decides which you can enter. You may step up to a stronger field, but you cannot drop back once your rating puts you above a level's entry limit. One main tournament per event.

How does a career year work?

A career year is fifty-two weeks. Each week you choose: a tournament, a league block, an evening at the clubhouse, the casino or a week off. Some events take one week, others two or three, and the programme changes from year to year.

How can I develop my career?

You can win trophies and Career Points. Career Points come with every finish in the money and build a season leaderboard.

Do I also get an Elo rating?

Yes. You play against the members, but they also really play each other in simulated matches — so there is a living, evolving world where Elo can be measured over the whole field. Career Rating is your Elo, placing you on the same ladder as every other member, from beginners to the strongest players in the club.

Can I also play the cash-game format?

Yes, we integrated single cash games as part of Career Mode. During a casino week you visit casinos to play for the career currency. A casino week is a week you are not spending at a tournament. Each casino has its own backgammon room, stakes and money-game rules — automatic doubles, beavers, raccoons — and you play cash games for simulated chips against randomly selected club members.

Do I have to play every day?

No. It's a true single-player career mode. The career calendar only moves when you play. Close the game and it pauses; come back a month later and pick up where you left off. No energy bar, no daily streak.

A new backgammon world is opening.

Imagine online backgammon as a living world, where you compete against over 500 unique personalities from 120 countries. Every member has their own character, life story, voice, playing strength and style. They compete in the same leagues and tournaments as you, build careers alongside yours and remember the matches, conversations and history you create together.

Learn who they are. Adapt to how they play. Earn their respect, make friends, create rivalries and become part of their story—because they will become part of yours.
