GG Vassallo

Mark Vassallo ran three seafood restaurants for thirty years and sold the lot in 2018, though he still advises the new owner most weeks, mostly about wine. He founded the club he now runs, has been married to Maria since 1981, and taught all four grandchildren to play before any of them could count a pip. The youngest, Luca, beat him twice last winter and leads their series still. He mentions this to anybody who asks and to several who do not, then sits down and tries again the following Thursday. He was a patient teacher, which he now suspects was the whole mistake.
