GG Garifano

Don Garifano cuts bespoke suits in Palermo, in the workshop where he apprenticed at fourteen and which he bought, stitch by careful stitch, from his old master's widow. He measures twice on principle and three times for a wedding suit. His sons taught him this game last year. He will not move before he is certain, which means he is never certain, which means his sons have started timing him for their own amusement. He studies every loss the way he studies a garment that came back for alteration: what was cut wrong, and at which point. He is losing regularly to both of them and has not once said anything about it.
