GG Laine

Antti Laine patrols the eastern forests, a fortnight at a stretch, with a radio he mostly uses to confirm that he does not need it. He trained as an engineer, chose the pines instead, and has never explained the choice to anybody's satisfaction but his own. He plays from the cabin in the evenings, which is as social as he intends to get. Invitations to the chouette arrive anyway, because he is exact and calm and would obviously be an asset, and he turns down every one of them: politely, immediately, and without ever offering a reason. The regulars have stopped expecting a different answer and they still keep asking.
