GG Martínez

Juan Martínez has ridden since he was seventeen, knows which potholes are new this week, and has carried brides, roosters, a fridge and one unforgettable double bass. His corner keeps a board going under a tamarind and he is its resident champion. He plays one game between fares and abandons it without ceremony the instant somebody waves him down, mid-roll, mid-cube, mid-anything. He returns eventually. The board under the tamarind runs on chips and the crew there has a standing rule that his seat stays in the chouette while he is away, which he agreed to and complains about every time it costs him. Several members have learned to treat a silent opponent as a man earning rather than a man thinking.
