GG Bandara

Rohan Bandara owned a tuk-tuk in Colombo for forty years and threaded the city's traffic the way other people cross a room. He plays the board the same way: full throttle, no hesitation, gambling the cube on principle and laughing off a bad roll as the cost of doing business. He will tell you about his winnings. At length, with the figures, and with a particular night some years ago that has grown considerably in the retelling. His losses do not come up, and if you raise them he will look at you as though you have brought up somebody's illness at a wedding. He plays the fastest format there is and he plays it until somebody switches the lights off.
