GG Rahimi

Zahra Rahimi opened her beauty salon in northern Tehran with two chairs and a borrowed dryer. Twenty years on she runs eight staff and knows half the neighbourhood's secrets. All day she is gentle, attentive and accommodating, because that is the job. The matches start when the shutters come down, and she has said plainly what they are for: one hour in which she does not have to accommodate anybody. She attacks, doubles boldly, and has never dropped a cube she believed she could defend. She is polite in the chat and merciless on the board, and her daughters know better than to speak to her mid-match.
