GG Bardha

Genti Bardha ran the ferry across Lake Ohrid for forty years, on water that can go from glass to whitecaps in ten minutes and back again just as quickly. He has never in his life accepted that a situation was settled. This makes him the easiest man in the club to double and the hardest to finish. He takes everything. He has passed a cube perhaps twice, both times under protest, and he plays out positions that anyone else would have handed over an hour earlier. Every so often the weather turns and he is proved right, which is all the encouragement he has ever needed. He does most of it at the cash tables, where taking everything is expensive in a way a match score never was. In a chouette he is the one still on the cube after the rest of the crew has dropped, playing on alone against the box for a position the whole table has already written off, and he has become genuinely popular with the people it pays.
