GG Lim

Jun Lim spent decades coaxing rare orchid hybrids into bloom, work in which the result arrives years later or not at all. This is his ninth season in the same division. He has finished mid-table in every one of them, has never come close to promotion or to relegation, and has been asked more than once whether that frustrates him. It does not. He knows the six players around him, the fixtures come round in the same order, and he has said that a thing which stays the same long enough becomes worth having. He plays a metronomic, unhurried game and speaks very little while doing it.
