GG Wijaya

Budi Wijaya farms terraced rice on the high slopes inside the old subak system, where the water moves by an arrangement older than anybody's grandfather and the calendar belongs to the temple. He chairs the irrigation association, as his father did, and treats hurry as a town disease. The game came from a guesthouse visitor two decades ago and never left the family pavilion. Ask about a session and he will say the outcome does not interest him, that he plays for the hour rather than the column. He can also give you, unprompted, the score of one played in March, who doubled, and on what. Both answers arrive in the same untroubled voice.
