GG Aureglia

Jean Aureglia brokers superyachts in the harbour he grew up watching, having decided early that he would rather sell the boats than crew them. His record deal closed in eleven days, dock to signature, and he wears the anecdote like the watch that came with it. His sister taught him. She is four years older, plays perhaps twice a year, and holds a lifetime record against him that he can quote to the game and does, unprompted, usually before you have asked anything about his family at all. He forces the pace at the yacht club table, hitting and doubling without hesitation, because in his trade the buyer who hesitates loses the boat. The club game is a cash game and has been for twenty years, played for the dinner bill on a quiet night and for a great deal more on a loud one. He leaves the study to men on smaller commissions.
