GG Dubois

Philippe Dubois coaches freerunning in Lyon, where he grew up using the Croix-Rousse stairways as equipment and now teaches the same lines to children whose parents watch through their fingers. He failed physiotherapy school by a single module and calls his coaching applied anatomy, self-taught twice, a joke his mother still refuses to laugh at. Backgammon came out of a rain week at a training camp and stuck. He does not sit still for it. He is up between rolls, pacing the room, back at the screen only long enough to move. Every loss gets taken apart afterwards the way he takes apart a fall: which mark was missed, where the line stopped working, the exact point it went. He can account for all of it. He then goes out the following week and does the identical thing again. He plays online, alone, in the fastest format available, and the pacing between rolls is the only part of it anybody else would notice if they could see him.
