GG Hodžić

Amir Hodžić hammers copper in the workshop his father ran, and his trays go home in the luggage of tourists from forty countries. He learned at the cafe between the workshops, taught by old smiths who judged a man entirely by his racing play, and he has spent four decades justifying their investment. The old man played the game without a cube and would not be talked into one, so that is what he plays now: fast, unforgiving, no escape, everything decided on the board. Married thirty years, two daughters studying abroad, he keeps the set in the shop and has never suggested to anybody that the choice is nostalgia.
