GG Ioannidou

Sofia Ioannidou plays bouzouki in the tavernas of the Ladadika, four nights a week, on her grandfather's instrument, re-fretted twice and hung on the wall between engagements. Unmarried and, by her own account, faithful only to the music. She tunes before she plays: not the instrument, the room, checking the sound on her end and adjusting something nobody else can hear, and when she loses it is because that was not right. It is never the dice and never the cube. Regulars have started asking after the tuning before the first roll, which she takes entirely at face value. Her division has decided this is either a joke she never breaks or the most sincere thing about her. She keeps a regular seat at the cash tables on performance nights, tuning the room exactly the same way before either kind of stage.
