GG Rangel

Luis Rangel has played bongo in Maracaibo dance halls since he was fourteen, holding together a rhythm section that has outlasted three band names and two currencies. Before the band paid enough to live on, he spent a decade on a bottling line, and his hands still fall into that exact production beat whenever he grows nervous at the board, a rhythm the factory stopped needing years ago. These days he fixes air-conditioners for a living, a service the local heat makes essential, and he insists both trades come down to keeping something running under pressure. At the table he drives the tempo and never lets it drop, turning the cube on momentum and carrying the beat through to the final point of the match.
