GG Suwan

Anan Suwan drives a tuk-tuk his uncle painted purple and gold around the tourist circuit between the Grand Palace and Khao San Road, greeting fares in a dozen languages and one rehearsed sentence of German. Before every session at the cash tables he names himself a ceiling, out loud, to whoever is nearest, and has never once stopped at it, a running joke among regulars who bet on how fast he blows through it. Between fares he still finds time for a hundred lightning games on a phone propped beside the meter. He blitzes decisions and throws the cube like a man who has never regretted a fare, funny and fearless at the table, and regulars allow five extra minutes whenever the game is close.
