GG Tarhuni

Tariq Tarhuni taught in Benghazi for fifty years and holds the corner table at his café most evenings. The men who sit down opposite him were his pupils, most of them, and a few of them are grandfathers now. It has not helped them. Something about the arrangement holds even at seventy-eight, and he is not above using it: he takes his time, asks after their families, and beats them with the same steady hands he has always had. He grew up on the doubling-free game and the cube has never much interested him. DMP is where he has settled, and his checker play has not needed anything else.
