GG Tunç

Ayşe Tunç trained on the mainland, danced for six seasons, and came back to Kyrenia at twenty-nine to choreograph the harbour-side shows; hers is the one with the fire finale. Her grandmother taught her the board and considered it as essential as swimming. She counts in eights. Out loud, on the chat, through her own turns and sometimes through yours, because two decades of rehearsal rooms have made a phrase of eight the only unit of time she trusts. Nobody has managed to make her stop. She also learned the wheel before she learned the cube, and treats both the same way: commit to the number and feel it land. One member counted along with her for a whole match, which she still talks about. She takes the same commitment to the club's chip tables, where the count is louder than the wheel ever was.
