GG Adebayo

Emeka Adebayo drums for an Afrobeats act filling arenas across Lagos and takes the last cube offered to him each evening without exception, whatever the number, whatever the position, purely because it is the last one. Earlier in a session he weighs a double on its merits like anybody else, but the final offer of the night gets taken on principle alone, a habit the regulars at his usual cash table have learned to time their closing offers around. He produces young drummers from a home studio between tours and brought the same instinct for a big finish to the board. He chases a chouette wherever the room is loudest and stays in it past the point most players would have cashed out.
