GG Gelashvili

Nino Gelashvili was raised on the stories of her country's great women champions and held a chess title of her own before she was twenty. The professional circuit taught her cold silence; this gave her somewhere new to use it. She does not concede. Not a hopeless race, not four away with nothing on the board, and she is under the impression that nobody has spotted the pattern, when in fact her division discussed it at some length last season. She calculates deeply and commits without expression. One chess board is still set up at home, mid-position, from the last professional game she won, and she treats every match here as its continuation by other means. The chess circuit she came up in ran in Russian, and so does she.
