GG Navarro

Carmen Navarro played professional poker before this and is the top-ranked woman in Spain. She runs a backgammon school in Madrid and is one of the most followed figures on the circuit.

She plays fast and doubles hard, and what she is actually applying pressure to is not the position. Years at a poker table taught her that people fold long before they are beaten, and she has never seen a reason to unlearn it. She talks, she moves quickly, she doubles at a point that makes opponents feel they are being pushed, and they are. The school is taught the opposite of what she does. Take more, she tells them, drop later, stop settling a game before it is over, and she sees no contradiction in making a living out of the habit she spends her mornings arguing against.
