GG Romero

Carmen Romero produces live cooking television in Valencia, where every dish must be plated on the clock and every chef insists clocks are for other people. She started as a runner at nineteen and has fired exactly two people in her career, both of whom she still remembers fondly. On quiet days she runs a small cash chouette with the crew, timing hands against a segment length and reading out who owes what the moment the countdown hits zero, the way she reads a rundown. Backgammon began as the crew's wrap-night game and never stopped. She keeps every match moving at segment pace, hitting her marks and never letting a position sit any longer than a dish would be allowed to.
