GG Cordero

Sofía Cordero has edited telenovelas for eighteen years and estimates she has cut more slaps, gasps and dramatic doorway reveals than anyone else in the business, a claim nobody has disputed. Two of her shows once ran at the same time and she cut both, sleeping famously little that season. She talks about the doubling cube with total editorial confidence, the same certainty she brings to a scene cut, though her reads land about as often as they miss. Her father repaired cinema projectors and taught her the game between reels. She keeps the tempo tight at the table, cutting fast and hitting every beat, and only afterwards, replaying the sequence in her head, does she ever admit a double was wrong.
