GG White

William White ran a property the size of a small country and spent forty years under an enormous sky learning what could and could not be hurried. He will not enter the fast format. Not the fixtures, not a friendly, not to make up a field, and he is not rude about it: it is a different game, he says, sharing only the equipment, and he sees no reason to be bad at a second one now. Inside the ordinary format he moves quickly, because he decided most of this a long time ago. Dry and sparing with words, he holds that out there you cannot hurry the rain, the grass or the dice, and he has stopped trying with any of them.
