GG Doğan

Serkan Doğan architects government software systems in Ankara and was a national junior chess player in the years when the clubs still smelled of cigarettes and glory. He returned to boards in his forties through his son's school club, volunteering to help and staying to study. However lost a position looks, he plays it to the final roll: chess drilled into him that resigning is a habit, not a fact about the board, and the habit never broke. He prepares positions like openings and audits a loss in writing afterwards the way he would trace a fault to its source. Sharp exactly where it counts, modest everywhere else, he lets the calculated play do the talking his job forbids.
