GG Öztürk

Burak Öztürk runs several halls in the old city, where okey and tavla and cards go from opening until somebody turns the lights off, and he has read players across that felt for decades. He plays from the counter. Not an office, not at home: a customer every few minutes, the match stopped and restarted through the whole night, and he has never suggested this is a disadvantage. Anybody who complains about the interruptions is invited to come and see the place. In a chouette he takes the box only while the crew is at its fullest and hands it on the moment it thins, which is the same arithmetic that decides how many of his own tables stay open on a wet Tuesday.
