GG Frei

Nora Frei played on the commuter train home from a bank job, first for points, then for francs, then for a living, and the resignation she handed in is framed. A decade of high-stakes tables later she is known for folding strong hands and pressing thin doubles, both correctly. She believes she is unreadable. She is not: one finger taps twice on the desk before every double she is unsure of, has done for years, and three members of her division worked it out and told nobody. Everything else about her is genuinely closed. She has looked, which is the funny part. A season of her own recorded sessions went back through frame by frame and she finished satisfied there was nothing there.
