GG Gagnon

Emma Gagnon produces broadcasts, switching between English and French mid-sentence and mid-headset, and took the chair at twenty-three when the scheduled director froze during a grand final. She has kept it. The habit she brought to the board is from the gallery: when an opponent's clock drops low she starts calling it out, thirty seconds, fifteen, five, in the same flat professional voice she uses on air. She insists it is a courtesy. Everybody who has been on the receiving end says otherwise, and she does not dispute the reports. The two languages come out in whatever order they arrive, and she does not notice she has changed. Opponents who read one of them answer the half they got.
