GG Roy

Lucas Roy competed in esports out of Montreal through his early twenties: one continental final, two sponsorships and a wrist injury that ended the high-APM titles at twenty-six. Backgammon was the physiotherapy game that stayed. He keeps a hit count. Not wins, not a rating, not an error rate, but hits made and hits taken, in a spreadsheet going back three years, and he will give you the season figure before he gives you the result of the match you have just finished. He attacks fast, turns the cube on the front foot, and goes through a loss the way he once went through replays, hunting the exact frame where the edge slipped. Bilingual, restless and cheerful about all of it, he treats a passive position as a bug rather than a plan.
