GG Ismoilova

Nigina Ismoilova has sung at wedding feasts for more than forty years and is requested by name by brides whose mothers she also sang for. The board travelled with her the whole way, played at the long tables between sets while the families danced. In the traditional game she will not have the cube on the board at all. She says it belongs to the other version, and she declines the offer in the tone she uses to refuse a second helping, which is warm and entirely final. The modern format she will play, cube included, though she turns it about as often as she loses her voice. The checkers are the reason people keep sitting down opposite her.
