GG Jovanović

Nikola Jovanović owns the riverside restaurant in Belgrade where the country's players gather, he hosts the national club nights, and he is the national champion. All three at once, which is the point.

The hospitality is real and it is also territorial. This is his table, in his city, and he does not intend to lose at it in front of people who eat there. He is loud, warm, immensely generous, and quietly one of the most competitive men in the club. Every good evening, he insists, ends with food, music and an argument about which of the two was better. He hosts in English as easily as in Serbian, which is half the reason the club nights fill.
