GG Đukić

Nikola Đukić inspects and strengthens the old crossings over the Danube and the Sava, work he considers better than putting up anything new, and he came to this at university through a professor who thought engineers should study games of structure under chance. He will not play a move until he has worked out how it collapses. Not whether it is good: how it ends, what sequence kills it, how much of the position goes with it, and only then does he commit. It makes him slow early and very difficult late, and it is why he can account for every defeat. Ask about a defeat from two seasons back and the sequence arrives in order, without hesitation.
