GG Murphy

Ciara Murphy grew up over her family's pub in Stoneybatter and has toured with a traditional band since she was nineteen, learning this in the endless hours of tour vans and ferry crossings. The set she learned on is magnetic, cost almost nothing, and has been two checkers short since a crossing in 2015; she uses two coins and has refused every replacement offered, including a good one. Somebody bought her a walnut board for her thirtieth and it is still in the box. The gambling came before the board, at the wheel, and she has never pretended otherwise. Her brother uses the walnut one. She has not commented on this, once, in five years of family gatherings.
