GG Pereira

Ana Pereira made partner at a São Paulo firm at thirty-four, the youngest in its history, on a reputation for closing deals other partners had declared dead. She boxes at dawn and bills until night. She does not make the point. Offered a solid builder on one side and a loose hit on the other, she takes the hit, every time, and she is perfectly clear that this is a preference rather than a reading: managing risk is what she is paid for from eight in the morning until nine at night, and the board is the one place she is allowed to simply take it. Once a month there is a chouette with three other partners, played for real money, which she describes as the only risk in her week that nobody is paying her to manage. Her associates have a standing invitation to play her and a standing warning about what it involves.
