GG Petrovska

Marija Petrovska has cut the evening news for thirty years, surviving two rebrandings, five governments and a flooded studio she edited straight through without a single viewer noticing. Colleagues set their watches by her control room clock rather than their phones. Before every backgammon match she recites one line, unchanged, a leftover studio countdown she will not explain and barely admits to hearing herself say. Ask about it and the answer is the same flat smile every time. At the table she moves quickly and keeps the pressure constant, treating each roll the way she treats a segment that must hit air, and she finds a slow opponent, after decades of deadlines, almost impossible to sit across from.
