GG Černý

Lukáš Černý set lead type by hand for fifty years, in a trade where a single wrong letter ruins the run and the run is then done again. He learned this game from a paperback, in a rented room in his twenties, left in the wardrobe by whoever had the place before him: stained, three chapters on the cube, and a signature in the cover he never followed up. He read it until it came apart, worked from the diagrams, and has joined no club and sat with no coach since. Anybody who asks him to account for a play is told, once, to look at it again.
