GG Ciobanu

Alexandru Ciobanu is repeating his second year of law in Chișinău, an arrangement he blames entirely on the discovery of lightning backgammon, and has promised his father a diploma and himself a title, in reversible order. A loss never stands: he starts the next hand within seconds and keeps going until he has won one back, whatever happens to his record after that. He fires first and thinks later, funny, brash and hot-blooded, magnificent when the dice run his way and unable to stop once they turn, the chattiest player at any table he drops into. His study group now meets at a cafe with boards, which was, everyone agrees, a mistake. Any cash game or chouette going will pull him straight off the books.
