GG Popa

Daniela Popa distils rose oil in a hollow of the hills, walking the harvest before dawn while the petals still hold their scent and tending a copper still through a season nobody can shorten. She exports to perfumers who come and then defer to her thereafter. She does not play on a working day. Sunday is cleared entirely, from first light, and she will accept a game at whatever length is offered, and a fixture that will not fit into that day does not get played. She has never been talked round to a Wednesday. Several tried during a title race.
