Karin Larsson was a librarian in Gothenburg for most of her working life and sets crosswords for a magazine, which is the same skill from the other side: knowing exactly how much help a person needs and then giving them slightly less. She gives a great deal more than that here. She talks through your move while you are making it, sincerely, laying out the options she can see and the one she would take, and she is genuinely trying to help. It is the most disconcerting habit in the tier. She apologises for it, warmly, at the start of every match, and then does it again.
