GG Díaz

Sofía Díaz has produced live football for Argentine television for twenty years, which means she has made a thousand split-second replay calls under the roar of a stadium and been shouted at by directors on three continents. She calls herself the most patient player in her league and genuinely believes it, unaware, or unwilling to notice, that her idea of patience is simply the fastest clock at the table. She raised two boys on tournament schedules, both of whom can now operate a vision mixer. Backgammon began in an outside-broadcast truck during a rain delay and never left. She plays fast and high-volume, clearing decisions without fuss, and finds any opponent slower than a broadcast countdown close to unbearable to sit across from.
